BuildingFolio · Website and pilot inquiries

Terms and Conditions

Terms for BuildingFolio's public website and early pilot registration process.

Effective October 17, 2026 · Version 1.0
What this agreement coversThese Terms apply to the public website and pilot inquiries. Pilot enrollment and paid or ongoing application use would require additional agreements.

1. Who we are and what these Terms cover

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to the public BuildingFolio website, buildingfolio.ca, and its pilot interest form. BuildingFolio is developing software for Ontario property managers. Use of the public website does not confer a right to access the application. If invited to use the software, a separate pilot or service agreement may apply and will govern that participation where it differs from these website Terms.

2. Eligibility and authority

The site is intended for adults and people with a legitimate professional interest in building management. If you contact us on behalf of a business, provide accurate information and ensure you are authorized to represent that business, or make clear that you are inquiring in your individual capacity.

3. Pilot registrations

Submitting the form is an expression of interest, not an account creation, purchase, enrollment guarantee, contract or commitment that we will offer pilot access. We may review requests, request clarification, limit enrollment and decide when participation is available. No payment is required to submit the website's pilot inquiry form. We may contact you about your inquiry in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

4. What the service is intended to do

BuildingFolio is being designed to help property managers organize tasks relating to fire, elevator and life-safety obligations; recurring inspections and deadlines; deficiencies; supporting documents; and activity records. Descriptions and dashboard illustrations on this website are previews. Features may change during development, and not every described function is necessarily available or suitable for every building or municipality.

5. No compliance or professional advice

BuildingFolio is not a regulator, law firm, engineering service, fire inspector, elevator inspector or qualified safety professional. The website and any software tools are not substitutes for legal, technical, inspection or safety advice. Building owners and managers remain responsible for identifying and complying with all applicable laws, codes, inspections, orders, deadlines and safety requirements. Task completion, uploaded evidence, notifications or dashboard status alone do not establish legal compliance. Verify critical dates and obligations independently.

6. Your submissions and data

You are responsible for information you submit and for having permission to share it. Do not put confidential building documents, tenant personal information, credentials, or other sensitive records into the public pilot inquiry form. Organizations participating in the software pilot will remain responsible for the lawfulness, accuracy and appropriate access to the information they provide, subject to their written agreement.

7. Acceptable use

You must not use the site unlawfully, impersonate another person, submit fraudulent or abusive requests, attempt to bypass access restrictions, collect other people's information without permission, introduce harmful software, overwhelm the site or interfere with its operation. We may restrict misuse or investigate security concerns as permitted by law.

8. Intellectual property

BuildingFolio's name, visual identity, original site content, illustrations and software materials belong to BuildingFolio or their respective rights holders. You may read and share public page links for legitimate business evaluation, but may not reproduce or commercially exploit substantial material without permission. Third-party trademarks remain owned by their respective owners.

9. Website availability and changes

The website and pilot are in development and may be revised, suspended or discontinued for security, maintenance, legal or business reasons. We do not promise uninterrupted access, acceptance into the pilot, any launch date or availability of a particular feature.

10. No warranties and limits of liability

To the extent allowed by applicable law, the public website and its preliminary descriptions are provided “as is” and “as available.” You should not rely on them alone for legal, financial or safety-related decisions. To the extent permitted by law, BuildingFolio is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising solely from use or unavailability of the public website. Nothing excludes rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded; actual customer or pilot service liabilities may be governed by a separate written agreement.

11. External links and privacy

Third-party services and websites linked from the site have their own policies and availability. Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. Agreeing to pilot-related contact does not automatically authorize unrelated marketing communications.

12. Governing law and disputes

These website Terms are governed by applicable Ontario and Canadian law. Disputes about use of the website will be handled by courts of competent jurisdiction in Ontario, subject to any mandatory legal protections that cannot be waived.

13. Updates and contact

We may update these Terms as BuildingFolio evolves. We will post an updated effective date when changes are made. For questions about the website, pilot enrollment or these Terms, contact shawn@buildingfolio.ca.
